  • About Us

    IBBY Ghana is an organization that brings together promoters of of children's books in Ghana. We collaborate widely with many organisations to promote literacy, libraries and Ghanaian books for children and young people. We organize the bi-annual IBBY-Ghana Meshack Asare Prize for Children's Illustrated Storybooks. The goal of this prize is to celebrate talented Ghanaian illustrators and promote picturebooks in Ghana.

     

    We are honored to be hosting the 5th IBBY-Africa Regional Meeting in Accra in 2019.

  • 5th IBBY Africa Regional Meeting

    29th August 2019 - 1st September 2019

    The 5th IBBY Africa Regional Meeting is a conference bringing together practitioners, supporters and champions of children's literature interested in African children's books. Following other IBBY Africa meetings organized in South Africa, Rwanda, Kampala and Harare, this conferece will be a mixture of presented papers, a poster session and an exhibition. There will be keynote speakers followed by in-depth sessions and opportunitise to network.

  • Call For Papers


    Guidelines for Submission of Abstracts for Paper Presentation


    Abstracts must address the sub-themes and must be written in English. It must be an original work of the presenter (s) and must include:


    • Title of proposed paper.
    • Name(s) of speaker(s).
    • Official Title of speaker (s) or Professional role
    • Speaker's institutional affiliation, if any.
    • Speaker(s) e-mail address, telephone/fax numbers.
    • Abstract of the proposed paper (about 500 words); and a
    • Short professional profile of speaker (s) - about five(5) lines each.


    Once an abstract is accepted the following apply to the full papers. Papers should be between 3-20 pages long, in a Word file, Times New Roman, 12 point typeface including an abstract derived from the content of the paper and clear recommendations. 15 minutes will be allowed for Oral presentation of the paper and 10 minutes for discussion.
